“Glassblowing is a fascinating art form to watch,” says Laura Carey, Executive Director, Terminal City Glass Co-op.  “Glass artists begin with molten glass on a blowpipe, blow a bubble to start expanding the glass and then shape and form the surface using a variety of tools. If you haven’t had the chance to watch glass as an art form, this evening could even be the spark for you to try glassblowing yourself.”

Silent auction items at Spark Fire & Light will feature work by award-winning glass artists including:

  • Brad Turner – Winner of the 2013 RBC Award for Glass and the 2017 Carter-Wosk BC Creative Achievement Award
  • Jill Allan – Winner of the 2007 Carter-Wosk BC Creative Achievement Award
  • Benji Kikkert – Winner of the 2012 RBC Award for Glass
  • Aaron Oussoren – Winner of the 2016 RBC Award for Glass
  • Jaan Andres – Winner of the ACAD Board of Governors Award in Glass
