The BC Co-op Association is pleased to welcome Ananda Co-operative Wellbeing Services as our newest member! We reached out to the folks at Ananda to give them an opportunity to share some information about themselves – here’s what they told us:
“Ananda Cooperative Wellbeing Services is a worker-owned coop that takes ancient well-being rituals and makes them accessible for modern times. Indigenous communities hold vital ancestral knowledge and expertise on how to adapt, mitigate, and reduce climate and disaster risks. Ananda believes that we must remember and re-center a greener form of spirituality, and they work at the intersection of health and wellness, climate justice, and the arts, to further this cause. Where possible, they partner with Indigenous designers, suppliers, and knowledge keepers. Their profit-share model sees a large portion of surplus funds we generate, being redirected to Indigenous-led non-profits across wellness, environmental stewardship, and gender equity.
Ananda Co-operative Wellbeing Services first products include a journal that centers on the Medicine Wheel and how to apply it to your daily life. They are also working on a fun picturebook that shows adults and children, the correct way to breathe – from your belly!”
