Strengthening Co-ops Across BC

The Membership Dues Support Fund helps newly incorporated co-operatives and established co-ops experiencing financial hardship across British Columbia stay connected to the provincial co-operative network. By covering up to two years of BCCA membership dues, the Fund ensures co-ops can access the learning, advocacy, relationships, and peer support that strengthen resilience when it matters most.

What started as a regional pilot in Q4 2025 with partners NDCU and UCCC in the Kootenays has grown into a province-wide program — made possible with the support of Vancity. This expansion reflects the co-operative sector’s commitment to lifting each other up and building a more inclusive and sustainable economy across BC.

Why This Matters

Co-operatives facing financial pressure — whether in their early years or during a difficult period — are often the ones with the least access to the networks and support that could help them through it. The Fund is grounded in a simple belief: that removing financial barriers allows co-ops to engage more fully in peer learning, mentorship, and sector networks, strengthening their capacity, resilience, and long-term viability.

Through BCCA membership, supported co-operatives gain access to:

  1. Provincial learning and mentorship opportunities
  2. Sector advocacy at the provincial level
  3. Peer and partner connections across BC
  4. Promotional support and enhanced visibility
  5. Financial benefits available exclusively to members

By removing financial barriers to membership, the Fund keeps co-ops connected to the ecosystem that helps them succeed. Learn about all membership benefits.
