Photograph of Tara Chernoff, BCCA's Executive DirectorAs I complete my second month at BCCA, I continue to be inspired by the impactful work happening across the BC co-operative landscape. It has been a true pleasure meeting many of you and learning about your remarkable efforts to strengthen our communities.
Our team has been working hard, collaborating with numerous partners to bring you opportunities to connect, learn, and grow. From hosting a discussion with Vancity to discuss the challenges and opportunities of reducing a co-operative’s operational emissions to the exciting Co-op Week events we’ve planned with the International Centre for Co-operative Management, Solid State, and Canadian Worker Co-op Federation, this newsletter is packed with chances to engage. I invite you to register for these events, and I look forward to seeing you online or in person.
On the strategic front, we’ve made significant strides in our planning process. With the needs assessment complete, our attention has now turned to refining BCCA’s value proposition. Your input is not just important, it’s vital in shaping the future of our work. Please take a moment to fill out our short survey. Your feedback will ensure we deliver meaningful value to the co-op community.
I’m also excited to share that we’ve received many excellent applications for our new Public Relations Specialist role. We’ll announce our newest team member soon, and I can’t wait to introduce them to you.
These past two months have taught me invaluable lessons, particularly the importance of strengthening connections and partnerships within our community, amplifying our members’ incredible work, and balancing various perspectives to create an inclusive and effective strategy. I’m energized for what lies ahead and deeply committed to fostering collaboration across BC’s co-operative movement.
Thank you for your ongoing support and engagement. Please don’t hesitate to reach out at any time.
Tara
