Co-op Tour 2025: Building Momentum Across the Province

| BC Co-op Tour 2025

The BC Co-op Tour is off to an incredible start! With inspiring stops in Victoria (sponsored by Vancity), Nanaimo (sponsored by Mid Island Co-op), and Vancouver (sponsored by Union Co-operative Initiative), we’ve been thrilled to connect with local co-operatives, spark meaningful conversations, and build momentum for a more connected and resilient co-op sector in BC.

At each event, attendees have expressed how much they’ve enjoyed the films and appreciated the overall value of the experience. The panel discussions have been a particular hit—engaging, insightful, and full of diverse perspectives. Panelists have included representatives from a wide range of co-operatives: retail consumer co-ops, worker co-ops from different industries, credit unions, and multi-stakeholder co-ops. Their stories have sparked great discussion and inspired action.

We’re seeing Principle 6—co-operation among co-operatives—in full force. Business cards are being exchanged, new relationships are forming, and people are already exploring ways to collaborate. One panelist even declared, “Co-operation among co-operatives is the bomb!”—a sentiment that had the whole room nodding in agreement.

So far, over 90 people have joined us in person, and the energy is growing with every stop. Attendees are leaving motivated to start or deepen their involvement in the co-op movement, and eager for more opportunities to connect with fellow co-operators.

A heartfelt thank-you to all our sponsors and to our Co-op Champion, Federated Co-operatives Ltd., whose support has helped make this tour possible. And a big shout-out to Modo—our official transportation sponsor—for helping us travel to each destination in co-operative style.

Next up: Surrey on July 23 at Solid State Community Industries. We can’t wait to keep the conversations going and meet even more incredible co-operators.
