BCCA Board of Directors 2024

Hello BCCA Members,

It’s been a busy time since we saw many of you at the AGM! Thank you to all of you who have participated in, attended and supported the Co-op Tour as it is navigating around our beautiful province. We look forward to a few more stops as we head into the fall. It has been great to hear from our members, learn from their stories as they share on the panels and talk about co-operation throughout BC.

At our AGM in June, the board proposed a new set of rules for our Association. These rules covered a range of areas, including membership, board structure, and operations. Designed to reflect today’s best practices, the changes both strengthen our governance and streamline our operations. Members showed strong support for this direction, approving the rules with a unanimous vote.

Since then, the board and governance committee have been working to align our board structure with these new rules. Specifically, the changes require us to transition from two-year to three-year board terms and expand to nine “Class A” directors. With input from directors, the governance committee has finalized the following updated board roster:

As we progress in our first year of this new strategic plan, I encourage you to look here and on our website for updates to events and offerings that reflect the journey we are on to engage members, bring co-ops together, raise awareness of the co-op sector and deliver on value for your membership. With so many member events happening this fall, we hope to see you in-person or virtually soon!

On behalf of the board and in co-operation,

Kirsten Forsch
