As 2024 draws to a close, we at BCCA extend our warmest holiday greetings to you and your loved ones. This time of year offers a moment to reflect on the progress made and the opportunities ahead—and there is much to be excited about for the coming year.

This year has been one of transition for BCCA. With new leadership and staff, we have prioritized reaching out to members to understand their needs, priorities, challenges, and aspirations. This engagement will help us to better align our services and initiatives with the unique goals of each member while also identifying emerging trends, opportunities for collaboration, and areas where we can drive greater impact within the cooperative sector. Earlier this month, our Board of Directors and staff came together for a productive two-day strategic planning session, informed by this valuable member input. The session will result in a three-year strategic plan, set to launch next year, which will guide us as we work towards a bold vision of co-ops being the first choice for building thriving communities in British Columbia.

Looking ahead, 2025 offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the International Year of Cooperatives. We’re excited to showcase cooperative innovation through a virtual trade show, host a province-wide co-op tour with film screenings and networking opportunities, and foster greater connections within our sector. We look forward to sharing more details with you soon.
