Regenerative Community Design with Mark Lakeman, Starhawk, Jack Anderson, & Brandy Gallagher

Join us as we explore the remarkable work that Mark Lakeman and his organization have done in Portland to transform city areas into vibrant communities, and look at the possibilities for Vancouver Island. This hour-long presentation will focus on several key topics including food security and building capacity for a local food economy by applying permaculture design principles within the context of neighbourhood placemaking. Mark’s talk will also inspire creative ways to build community through engaging people in public spaces. These topics are explored with special attention to sustainability and sensitivity to ecological systems and are informed through Mark’s experience with local communities.
