Overview of Proposed Rule Changes
We’re excited to share proposed updates to BCCA’s Memorandum of Association and Rules—ensuring they continue to reflect the evolving needs of our co-op community.
Over the past year, our Governance Committee has carefully reviewed and refined these updates, with input from the Board and legal review by co-operative law specialist Bill Oemichen. The proposed changes align with legislation and best practices in the co-op sector.
We invite you to review the updated Rules, along with a summary of key changes. The current Rules are also included for comparison. Some updates are particularly significant, and we’ve provided additional context to help guide your review.

If you have questions about the proposed changes, please join the Governance Committee on May 28 at 12pm for an Information Session. This will be your opportunity to ask questions and share feedback ahead of the vote at the Annual General Meeting.
