This registered cooperative markets the fine works of two groups of artists - current and former federal prison inmates, and their "outmates," professional community based artists and mentors who share their creative talents and business skills. ~ read more

Oikocredit British Columbia

Oikocredit believes that poor people can build themselves a better life, if only given the chance, if only given credit. Their aim is to promote social and economic justice by challenging institutions and individuals to share their resources through socially responsible investments that are used to empower disadvantaged people in the developing world with credit. These microcredit loans would give a "hand up" not a "hand out" and provides a mechanism for meaningful sharing. ~ read more

Peace Energy Cooperative

Peace Energy - A Renewable Energy Cooperative (PEC) was incorporated in 2003 to promote the development and adoption of renewable energy sources in the BC and Alberta Peace; wind, solar, geoexchange and others.

The early Directors of PEC were amongst the very first to recognize the tremendous opportunities that exist for the region, and the significant environmental and economic benefits associated with the development of renewable energy resources. ~ read more

The Sooke Co-operative Association of Service Agencies (CASA) is part of a large initiative led by the Sooke community and Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children.

The Wood Co-op

The Wood Co-op offers marketing services to those woodworking businesses across B.C. that are associated with the Co-op's participating member organizations.

Our most prominent initiative yet is the operation of a retail establishment in Vancouver, B.C. that conveys an image of upscale wooden arts and crafts and allows customers and visitors to appreciate fine woodworking and craftsmanship in B.C. The retail outlet sells fine wood-based home furniture and furnishings as well as home accents, giftware and accessories. ~ read more
