Co-operative Housing Federation of BC

Member Profile

The Co-operative Housing Federation of BC (CHF BC) is a co-operative association whose members are housing co-ops and related organizations in British Columbia. 

Members provide direction through their delegates at Federation meetings, through the Board of Directors elected at the annual general meeting, and by serving on CHF BC committees. This member direction helps CHF BC focus on meeting the needs of housing co-ops.

You can represent the interests of your members by adding your co-op's voice to the co-operative housing movement. Working together we have created a strong co-operative federation, and we invite your co-op to join us.

CHF BC is financed by annual membership dues, fees for services, revenue shared by CHF Canada, and by contracts and grants for special projects. 

CHF BC was formed in 1982 by members of BC housing co-ops who wanted to :

• expand non-profit co-op housing
• promote better housing conditions in BC
• share skills and information within the co-op housing sector
• represent co-op housing to governments and the public
• promote the co-op movement and co-op principles in BC
