The YES Camp

The YES summer retreats offer young people a chance to learn new skills, appreciate new values, and grow as individuals within an atmosphere of mutual support and respect in a beautiful wilderness setting. The YES encourages the excellence present in all young people by modeling exceptional behaviour and presenting quality self-development programs that stimulate thought, increase knowledge, and inspire positive action. The YES program builds a strong foundation of co-operative leadership skills and values for the young leaders of tomorrow.

A new feature of the retreats includes an emphasis on wilderness training, a broader range of challenging outdoor activities (hiking, and canoing), and an increased attention to the environment and environmental issues. This is made possible through the involvement of Mountain Equipment Co-op and its staff as new sponsors and leaders in the program.

In addition to the many co-ops and credit unions that sponsor young people to the program, other key supporters include Federated Co-ops who have been long time advocates of RYES and The YES program.
