British Columbia has one of the most vibrant co-operative movements in Canada. For a history of co-ops in B.C., check out our Co-ops in British Columbia section.
They are active in a broad cross section of sectors including financial services, insurance, health services, housing, transportation, social services, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, post secondary education, and retail.
Total membership in British Columbia's co-operatives exceeds 2 million people. Collectively, these people control more than 48 billion dollars in assets through ownership of their co-ops.
Co-operatives are more common than you may think and, after having a look at our list of members, you may find you're already a member of a co-op.
