It is with regret that the Board of BCCA announces the resignation of Carol Murray as Executive Director, effective June 30, 2016. Since Carol joined our staff in 2008, she has worked tirelessly to provide excellence in leadership and management to our association.
Carol worked initially as interim Executive Director, later as the Director of Co-op Development, and subsequently as permanent ED. Carol has introduced improvements in communications, financial management and member engagement as well as provided supports to over 250 emerging co-op groups, including the introduction of a Food Hub Co-op project. Under her leadership, BCCA’s youth program has blossomed into a robust co-op education program that introduces high school and post-secondary students to the co-op business model. It is with warmest regards that we wish Carol success as she moves to Nova Scotia to pursue a consulting career.
Beginning June 13, 2016, Patrice Pratt, BCCA President, will take on a voluntary Managing Director role with BCCA until December 2016. This will allow the Board to complete its Strategic Planning process before making a decision on the permanent leadership of the association.
